FAITHFUL IN THE FIRE 🔥
Dear Team Mylon,
This past month has been the most intense faith fight we’ve faced in all our years of ministry together. We humbly ask for your faith filled agreement as we walk through this fiery trial. We are confident that the Lord is “showing us His salvation” and we will soon have the joy of showing it to you! (Psalm 91:16)
Maybe like us you’re also facing a trial by fire: a terminal diagnosis, bankruptcy, divorce, etc. As we were fervently seeking the Lord for His help, He led us to the famous story in Daniel of the three Hebrew men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, who were honorably serving King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. The king erected a golden image, commanding that everyone in the kingdom worship the idol and whoever did not bow would be thrown into the fiery furnace. But these brave young men refused saying, “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” (Daniel 3:16-18 NKJV) In our western world, most of us have never faced the unbelievable pressure of a literal life or death situation for what we believe.
The king was infuriated and commanded the furnace to be heated seven times hotter. Stop right here. How hot does fire have to be to kill you? Three times? Five times? No of course not. What was the purpose of the king turning the heat up? He was trying to intimidate them, to scare them into backing down. Which is exactly what the devil tries to do to us; he turns up the heat to frighten us so that we’ll release our faith. But when we choose to be faith-ful (FILLED with FAITH) even in the fire, God’s glorious plan is miraculous deliverance that will bring glory to Him and promotion for us!
“Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?…Look! I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Daniel 3:24-25
When those three courageous men came out of the trial by fire, “the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.” Hallelujah, when God delivers us from destruction, there will be no evidence of what we’ve been through—we are untouchable! Why is that? Because of God’s promise to us in Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”
In Daniel 3:27-30 Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the Most High God saying, “There is no other God who can deliver like this.’ Then the king PROMOTED Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.’” Glory to God, when we stay faithful in the fire, the end result is promotion, uncommon favor and supernatural increase! Psalms 66:12 NLT confirms this saying:
“We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance.”
As you sow your seed this month, be encouraged that you’re coming out of the fire promoted to an unprecedented position of favor! Declare with us over your sacrificial seed, “I refuse to bow to fear and intimidation. No matter how intense the fire, I commit to stay in faith. Therefore, I will not be burned because my God is with me. By His power, I will come out of this fiery trial not even smelling like smoke! The Lord is bringing me to a place of promotion and great abundance!”
